Complete Environment

At Complete we are involved with the sales, servicing and installation of multi-functional devices and related software and we have the following Environmental policy for all our sites.

We have a commitment to comply with relevant environmental legislation and those required by our suppliers and partners, and will undertake all necessary measures to prevent pollution during the course of our business.

"We will identify all potential impacts of our business and will maintain a set of objectives and targets whereby we will control and reduce, where possible our impact upon the environment".

We are committed to continual improvement and will constantly review our environmental policy and systems. We will make this policy statement available on request to customers, suppliers and anyone else who has an interest.

Greener IT
Our on-going commitment to greener IT means we are also dedicated to reducing our customers impact on the environment.

Energy Star has recently introduced tougher restrictions on energy use making it more difficult for office equipment to meet its specifications. According to Energy Star, qualified office machines use up to 75% less electricity than their traditional counter parts while offering the same performance.

Energy Star is a government backed programme helping businesses and individuals protect the environment through superior energy efficiency.

Disposal of obsolete equipment
As part of our environmental activities, we have, for some time, had the facility to recycle end of life equipment through a third party asset recovery company. This service offers us the opportunity to ensure that machines at the end of their life are disposed of and recycled in an environmentally friendly way and that, where feasible, raw materials are recovered for reprocessing, rather than adding to the to the total waste burden by sending them to landfill.

Toner cartridges can now be sent to a UK green centre for asset recovery and recycling. Complete is happy to absorb the cost of recycling and hopefully by working together we can reduce the waste going to landfill.

Sustainable printing & copying
There are many ways in which we can reduce the environmental impact of your organisations print and copying operations.

  • Routing documents to the most efficient printer or multifunctional device
  • Using email instead of fax
  • Using electronic proofing and amendment techniques
  • Regularly auditing print behaviour to ensure optimal  device usage

Here are ten activities that you can carry out before you leave the office this evening to get your carbon reduction off to a flying start:

  • Reduce all sleep times on office printers, copiers and multifunction devices to 5 minutes or less
  • Make sure your air-conditioning and heating aren’t both on
  • Turn the thermostat down 1 degree
  • Change light bulbs to low energy ones
  • Set printers and copiers to duplex as default
  • Turn out the lights in unlit areas e.g. stores, bathrooms
  • Unplug any device chargers e.g. mobile phone chargers that are not currently charging a device
  • Office equipment like computers and printers generate heat, causing a gradual increase in office temperature during the day. Take advantage of this free heating and set your office heating to switch off earlier
  • Ask everybody to turn off their PC monitors whenever they leave their desk for lunch or a meeting
  • Every single open application on your computer consumes energy, so think about whether you really need that widget on your desktop

And before you leave tonight…

Turn everything off!

Do you know…

How many pages each of your employees print in an average day?

How many duplicate pages are printed wastefully?

That desktop colour printing is the most expensive form of office printing?

The costs of a colour print compared to a mono print?

How all of this affects your bottom line?

Printing costs can represent 3% of your organisations total revenue (Gartner, IDC. Reducing them has a direct impact on your bottom line.

On average, a company can reduce document output  costs by up to 30% by reorganising its equipment and introducing print policies and software that measures, monitors and controls when and where and through which device documents are printed, copied and distributed (Pitney Bowes).

Simply by selecting double sided print as a default setting across the output devices a company can reduce annual paper costs by 30% (Gartner).

We will help you take control of your output

If cost reduction, increased productivity and environmental protection are your targets we have an easy solution that will help you achieve them more…

Our software can implement a comprehensive print policy and ensure its compliance. Our innovative software controls all print jobs in the network and automatically modifies them or routes to them to the most suitable device according to the rules of your individual print policy.

We will help you define your print policy

  • Who should have access to which system?
  • Which jobs may be printed in colour?
  • Which jobs will be allowed to be printed on desktop printers?
  • Which documents should be printed double sided?
  • What should happen if a device is busy or out of order?

With our software you will:

  • Reduce your output costs and improve productivity
  • Easily implement your company-wide print policy
  • Improve your environmental sustainability

Go Green:

Reduce paper Consumption
The most cost effective way to reduce your environmental impact of printing is to print jobs double sided (duplex printing.) With Complete’s software solution this can be automated intelligently and savings of up to 50% can be made. With the economy mode we can reduce toner consumption, put in place rules that only the first X pages of a print job will be printed from certain applications; e.g. emails which are often printed with lengthy history and replies. Another source of unnecessary waste is duplicated and repeated jobs - our software can automatically delete these jobs reducing waste and additionally saving money.

Save Costs:

Control Colour Printing
Colour printing can be expensive. It is often used unnecessarily, printing documents in colour when producing them in mono would be sufficient. With our software we can define the rules for colour printing its integrated colour detection option allows you to prevent mono print jobs being printed on colour output equipment. This powerful feature can be used to ensure certain colour documents e.g. emails or web pages are always printed in mono even when they are printed to a colour capable device. In addition you can restrict colour printing for certain users, departments and applications or determine that colour printing can only occur during normal office hours.

Print on the most efficient device
We recognise that personal printers are indispensable in most office environments, but are less cost effective when it comes to high-volume or colour printing. They are often used because of their convenience with little attention paid to their running costs. With Complete’s software we can determine that print jobs exceeding certain volumes are routed to a more economical system such as a workgroup printer of multi-functional device (MFD). In addition, you can also route certain print jobs to specific systems according to their document type: - emails to printers that use recycled paper. This will enable you to reduce costs and utilise your systems more efficiently, while at the same time helping to preserve the environment.

Boost your output:

Bypass queuing and downtime
How often do you start to print and when you arrive at the device to collect it the equipment is busy dealing with a large job or even out of order? You lose valuable time waiting at the device or reporting the fault. Our software solutions constantly check the status of all available systems on the network. If a device is not available for any reason the job will be immediately routed to another suitable device. You will be notified via an email or a pop-up message why the job has been rerouted and where to. High priority print jobs from VIP users can also be given priority to avoid wasting their time.

Log your savings
Our software logs all print jobs. It can track who printed what job to which printer, how many pages were printed, how many were double sided or in colour. If regulations prohibit the tracking of personalised information, all data can be made anonymous. The information can be displayed in a concise HTML document summarising the savings of all routing and modifications allowing you to see the return on investment immediately.

With our software the most common features are integrated into to the user interface for easy administration without the need for training. We are also able to customise the interface to suit the individual requirements.
